Platforum is a research consultancy analysing trends in retail and wholesale investment distribution. Our work covers the wealth management, financial advice and direct-to-consumer markets across the UK and Europe.

We are a strategic partner for asset managers, platforms, banks, insurance companies and technology providers. For more than a decade we’ve been helping our clients to understand how the landscape is evolving.

Our ongoing research is delivered via reports and briefings. We also carry out bespoke consultancy work supporting marketing, sales and strategy.

Jeremy Fawcett

Head of Platforum

Interested in helping to build the next generation of investment propositions for digital consumers. He comments regularly in the consumer and trade press about direct platforms and the evolving digital investor. Previously he was Category Director for financial services at Yahoo and picked out personal investing as an area that would be transformed by digital technology.

Richard Bradley

Research Director

Responsible for Platforum’s research programme, he has been researching investment distribution and commenting on industry developments for the last decade. His work has covered global retail and institutional investment distribution – both B2B and B2C. He holds a BEng and PhD in engineering from the University of Southampton, with a focus on control systems and artificial intelligence.

Danby Bloch


Chairman of London independent financial advisers and employee benefit consultants Helm Godfrey and was a non-executive director of the platform Nucleus. He is co-founder of Taxbriefs Financial Publishing and is also a regular speaker and has written and edited a number of books on financial planning. Danby is a consultant to the Platforum team. His focus is on events, publications as well as general platform and investment policy and industry issues. Danby was Chair of Governors of Oxford Brookes University and subsequently its Pro-Chancellor. Danby read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University.

Víctor García Priego

Senior Analyst
Leading our European and ESG research. He has extensive expertise on the global asset management industry. During his time as Global Head of Research at Fundamental Media he conducted quantitative and qualitative research among end investors, financial intermediaries and institutional investors across the world. This enabled him to gain in-depth knowledge about the particularities of the fund distribution landscape in all key fund management markets across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the US. He has a degree in economics and a PhD in social theory from the University of London. He is fluent in Spanish, English, German, French and Italian.

Jen Mallett

Senior Analyst

Specialising in qualitative research on Platforum’s reports and bespoke projects. Her interest is digging into layers of behavioural and strategic insight to understand the decisions we as individuals and a collective make on a day-to-day basis and how this evolves. Most recently, Jen has worked as an Associate Director at Boring Money with a focus on the consumer within the investment market. Prior to this, her research experience covered a wide range of topics across banking and financial, public sector, healthcare, FMCG and automotive. Jen has a degree in Media Studies from De Montfort University with a focus on text and context and sociology.

Mariam Pourshoushtari


Specialising in qualitative research at Platforum, which involves conducting in-depth interviews, face-to-face meetings and roundtable discussions with financial advisers from across the UK. This research informs Platforum’s financial adviser, platform and fund distribution  reports in the UK, as well as adviser-focused consultancy projects. Previously, Mariam was Editorial Manager at Taxbriefs and managed the technical updates for the CII’s financial planning diploma study texts, as well its online CPD programme. She has an MA in English Literature from the School of Advanced Studies, University of London.

Sam Richardson


Focussed primarily on the UK D2C investing market. He was previously a Data Analyst at Boring Money where he was responsible for researching the UK online investing market and where he developed a self-serve data analytics tool to allow users to understand changes in the industry’s consumers and providers. Sam has an integrated Masters degree in Environmental  Geography, specialising in Marine Ecosystems.
